Patricia’s Skirt and Top – Pink and Grey Again!!

27 Mar

Bonjour mes amies!

Here is Patricia’s contribution to my Pink and Grey Theme (nearly finished with it!!)

P1190264small

The very smart skirt follows a lovely pattern by Vero at Le Petit Monde de Vero. The yarn I used for the skirt is Patons Diploma Gold 4 ply shade 4245 (Steel).

P1190266small

The knitting needles used throughout are size 3 mm.

P1190263small

And for the cute top I have followed Marie’s lovely pattern at Les Voyages de Capucine. The yarn is Sirdar Crofter DK in shade 60 (Loganberry) which has some matching grey speckles.

P1190260small

I am delighted at how this outfit has turned out.

P1190257small

And here is Patricia with Annie in their contrasting Pink and Grey outfits. I’m sure you will agree that they look lovely together.

Welcome to Sylvie – She’s Wearing My Dress!

5 Feb

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here is my first new wee Mini Corolline – all lovely and clean after a bath. I washed her hair carefully and then very foolishly combed it while wet. She had a parting that meant that you could put her hair in bunches – but I have basically ruined this by brushing her hair. I have painstakingly tried to fix this (only partially successfully) – but I will learn from my mistake and never do that again!

P1180928small

I have decided to name her Sylvie and she is wearing the dress I adapted from my favourite pattern by Sylvie of PoupeesdeSyl. You can find my tutorial here.

Untitled

I used 3.25 mm knitting needles and the yarn is Woolcraft Baby Care 4 ply shade 706 (Mint) and the contrast is Stylecraft Life 4 ply shade 2357 (Aqua).

P1180939small

I designed the shoes myself based on a pattern by Laurence for an Itty Bitty doll – I used a size 3 mm crochet hook and added an extra row of double crochet before the shaping.

P1180936small

Sylvie’s hair is very soft and shiny now and I am pleased that I washed it – I just wish I hadn’t brushed it!

P1180942small

I think Sylvie looks very cute and I love her blue, blue eyes.

[Merci à Sylvie pour ton message quand je n’étais pas là – tes bons mots m’ont encouragé à revenir.]

Krissy in Pink and Black – Just Like Her Sister and Cousins

1 Feb

Bonjour, mes amies! Je reviens!

Here is Krissy finally getting her matching dress for her wee family.

P1180883

I love making this half ‘n’ half dress – the main part is knitted, and the top and bottom frill are crocheted. It is based on an original design by Odile of Passion Poupees, but I have adapted it each time I have made it.

P1180886

The yarn used is Stylecraft Life 4 ply in shade 2358 (Clover) and the black contrast is Patons 100% Cotton 4 ply shade 1712 (Black). And I used size 3 mm knitting needles and a size 3 mm crochet hook.

P1180888

P1180884

I’ve enjoyed making these little dresses and here are all four of my 2012 Mini Corollines in their matching outfits.

Left to right we have Kimberley, Krissy, Katie and Kara.

Happy New Year! – Carole’s Multicoloured Sparkly Dress

3 Jan

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here is Carole after she arrived for the Hogmanay Party. Her dress is from the Sticka Till Barbie site and is pattern number 183.

P1180848small

P1180852small

The yarn is the same ball as I used for Annie’s little twin set. It is Rico Design Creative Reflection shade 004 (Pastel).

P1180856small

P1180847small

I have adjusted the original pattern by using size 3.25 mm knitting needles and have added a top of my own to give some shoulder straps.

P1180853small

Once again the shoes are by Cathel at lagrandemaisonsurleplateau.

P1180849small

This is a cute dress for Carole …

P1180851small

… and here she is with the others (still one dress to come!)

Happy Hogmanay! – Jeannie is Ready to Party!

30 Dec

Bonjour, mes amies!

Well it’s Hogmanay tomorrow, so all the little girls are getting ready for their Hogmanay Party.

Here is the first of them – it’s Jeannie wearing a little cream dress with sparkly gold and copper frills.

P1180787small

P1180791small

This cute little dress is from the Sticka Till Barbie site. It is number 897 and the only adjustment I made was to use size 3.25 mm knitting needles and 4 ply yarn. It has worked out beautifully.

P1180792small

P1180795small

The yarn used is Jarol Baby Supersoft 4 Ply in shade 1813 (cream). The glitter frill is DMC Starlet in shade T143 (copper/golds).

P1180788small

P1180786small

I think Jeannie will cause quite a stir at the party as she looks really cute in this dress.

Fabulous Fairisle (6) – Shona Completes the Group

29 Dec

Bonjour, mes amies!

At last, I am done! Here is Shona in her cute dress based on the Tunique d’Abigail pattern by Sylvie at Poupeesdesyl.

P1180770small

P1180771small

Shona’s dress is made with Sirdar Crofter DK Fair Isle Effect in shade 56 (Hedgerow). I used size 3 mm knitting needles and I am very proud of this dress.

P1180773small

P1180768small

I changed the bottom to have two tiers and amended the top to be garter stitch and off the shoulder.

P1180766small

I think Shona looks lovely in this dress, despite her messy hair. Shona does not care about her hair and leaves it unbrushed a lot!

P1180765small

P1180767small

And once again here are all are all my lovely little girls in their Tuniques d’Abigail.

P1180781medium

Left to right we have Jeannie, Annie, Robyn, Shona, Carole and Patricia.

Phew!

Fabulous Fairisle (5) – Robyn’s Cute Top

28 Dec

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here we are – Robyn’s first garment is a little top based on Sylvie’s great pattern Tunique d’Abigail on her Poupeesdesyl site.

P1180746small

P1180747small

This is now the fifth time I have made this pattern and I have adjusted it slightly each time. For Robyn it is a little top and I have changed the bottom to have two tiers. The shoulders and top of the tunic are exactly as Sylvie’s pattern.

P1180753small

P1180743small

I used Sirdar Snuggly Baby Crofter DK in shade 171 (Lucie). At least I think it is this shade – I bought it cheaply from my local shop with a handmade label saying it was Baby Crofter DK and no other information!

P1180745small

P1180744small

Robyn is wearing her own skirt and boots. I love her freckles!

P1180752small

And finally, here are all five of my lovely little girls wearing their coordinating Tuniques d’Abigail!

P1180760small

From left to right we have Jeannie, Robyn, Annie, Carole and Patricia.

Don’t they look lovely together … But wait! Someone is missing!! Where is poor Shona? She does not have the coordinating outfit yet. Poor little girl, I hope she is not too jealous.

Fabulous Fairisle (4) – Carole’s First Dress

27 Dec

Bonjour, mes amies!

Festive Felicitations! I hope you are all enjoying the Xmas holiday and that Santa was good to you.

I am continuing my tradition of trying to knit every one of my Les Cheries the cute little dress (Abigail’s Tunic) by Sylvie of Poupeesdesyl. Each time I am using the speckled yarn Crofter DK by Sirdar. And here is Carole in her first new dress.

P1180663small

P1180660small

P1180666small

This time I have used the baby version, which is Sirdar Snuggly Crofter Baby DK in shade 161 (Maisie). This is a very bright and cheerful coloured yarn and has produced a lovely effect for the dress.

P1180661small

I have lengthened the pattern to make it a dress and have made the neckline two rows less. (I am trying to make each version slightly different.)

P1180668small

P1180669small

Carole looks lovely in this dress and she is wearing her own shoes.

P1180667small

Here is a picture of her with my Xmas tree.

P1180671small

And a couple with Jeannie to whom she bears a remarkable resemblance 😉

Christmas Eve! – Shona’s Lovely Xmas Tunic

24 Dec

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here is Shona in her lovely new dress. This is made from a pattern by Esyram (at Dans le Pupitre d’Esyram) which is designed for the Boneka dolls.

P1180527small

I have no idea what size these dolls are, but I know they are smaller than les Cheries, so I increased the needle size to 3.00 mm and hoped for the best. Surprisingly it fits very well, although as I was knitting it, I wasn’t sure if it would turn out as a dress or a tunic!

P1180534small

I think using the colours red and white give the outfit a festive air and I am very pleased with the way this dress looks.

P1180530small

P1180528small

Of course, the most obvious way to make the outfit look festive is to add a Santa hat!

P1180523small

P1180522small

Shona’s hat comes courtesy of Marie at Les Voyages de Capucine. A simple and effective pattern that creates a very cute hat.

P1180525small

I used the yarn, Stylecraft Life 4 ply, shade 2306 (Cardinal) and some old white 4 ply from my stash.

P1180524small

I think Shona looks like she is ready to join Patricia and Annie for Christmas.

P1180551small

P1180546small

P1180548small

And without the flash …

Still Counting Down to Xmas – Annie Joins the Party!

23 Dec

Bonjour, mes amies!

So here is another Xmas outfit for my Les Cheries. This time it is Annie who is wearing the lovely new outfit.

P1180487small

P1180492small

This pattern comes from the Sticka Till Barbie site and is pattern number 169. I was amazed that I did not need to adjust this pattern at all for it to fit the Les Cheries dolls. All I had to do was use size 3.25mm knitting needles and double knitting yarn (DK). This has opened up a whole new world of potential patterns and I have made a very lengthy list of other patterns I would now like to make (not enough time in my days!)

P1180493small

I used the same red yarn as for Patricia’s dress yesterday – King Cole Big Value DK in shade 09 (red) and for the contrast this time I used Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake DK in shade 630 (white). This gives a lovely fuzzy effect which really suits the festive theme.

P1180496small

The dress has a nice lace pattern in the skirt and is beautifully fitted.

P1180500small

I made the same boots as yesterday, but with the new contrast yarn. I made them slightly longer this time and increased my needle size to 3.25 mm for the last 6 rows to widen it enough to fit neatly over her calves. This super pattern comes from Marie at Les Voyages de Capucine.

P1180497small

And here is Annie with Patricia in their festive outfits. Although these dolls are the same, I am convinced that Annie’s skin tone is slightly warmer as if she has a slight tan. Annie is the Camille Horse Rider doll and her fringe is very flat (from being under the riding hat!)

P1180502small

P1180503small

Here is a back view of the dolls and I hope you are impressed by their hair styles. They were both done by my daughter ‘Katie’. I think she has made a fabulous job.

P1180505small

P1180506small

And here they are enjoying their Xmas tree.

P1180519small

P1180517small
