Another Pink and Grey Dress – This Time for Annie

25 Mar

Bonsoir, mes amies!

Here is Annie showing off her new dress – simple, but cute (and oh look at the colours – are you spotting a trend yet?)

This lovely little dress is based on a pattern by Odile of Passion Poupees (adapted quite a bit), but the colour scheme is inspired by this lovely dress by Sylvie at PoupeesdeSyl.

The yarn used is Sirdar Snuggly 4 ply shade 195 (Pale Grey), Hayfield Bonus 4 ply shade 992 (Pink) and the lovely pale pink is Patons Fairytale 4 ply shade 4308 (Sugar Pink).

Annie looks very sweet and innocent in this dress.

I used a size 3 mm crochet hook.

I love Annie’s gorgeous hair.

Robyn’s New Tunic – It’s Pink and Grey Again!

23 Mar

Bonjour, mes amies! Je reviens 馃檪

It’s Robyn’s turn to show off her new outfit. And it’s grey and pink again.

This is a lovely little tunic by Odile of Passion Poupees. But I think I have made it slightly too long and it is almost long enough to be a dress

The yarn used is Sirdar Snuggly 4 ply in shade 0195 (Silver) and I used a size 3.5 mm crochet hook.

The leggings are a cut up pink sock again.

I love Robyn’s red hair and freckles!

And here are three of my lovelies in grey and pink …

In the photo below it is from left to right – Jeannie, Carole and Robyn.

Patricia is Cosy Indoors – (And I Mutilate a Sock)

18 Feb

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here is Patricia in a lovely outfit from Odile at Passion Poupees specifically designed to keep our lovely little girls cosy indoors.

The only changes I made were to use a 3.5 mm crochet hook (despite Odile’s recommendation of 2.5 mm!) and to add a couple of extra rows here and there to lengthen any part that needed it. I especially made the collar a little longer so that I could turn it down like a polo neck.

The slouch socks are incredibly simple and yet look really cool – there is no shaping in them – yet they look well fitted.

And (… drum roll …) I have finally sewn something for my dolls – admittedly it is hand sewn – still haven’t managed to face my sewing machine (it is lurking in a cupboard reproaching me). Patricia’s leggings are a sock – yes – I managed to cut up and sew a sock to make a cute pair of leggings to go with the lovely jumper and socks.

The yarn used is Stylecraft Life 4 ply in shade 2303 (Oatmeal).

I’m sure you will agree that Patricia will not feel the cold indoors in this outfit.

Isn’t She Sweet? – Carole in Pink and Grey

16 Feb

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here’s a lovely outfit for Carole. I have used this super pattern by Nelle, although I have added crocheted sleeves, instead of socks, and a wee pair of shoes. Nelle’s pattern can be found here.

The dress is made with James C Brett Supreme Baby 4 ply in shade SY6 (Pale Pink), Patons Diploma Gold 4 ply in shade 4245 (Steel) and Woolcraft Baby Care 4 ply in shade 700 (White). And the the crochet hook used was 3 mm.

Carole looks like she will be cosy in this outfit.

I hope you agree this is a very sweet dress.

And here is Carole with Jeannie in her pink and grey outfit.

It’s Annie’s Turn – Lots of Blue

7 Feb

Bonsoir, mes amies!

Here is a fabulous pattern by Odile as adapted by Vero. I love it! Annie looks great in this outfit. Thank you to both ladies.

The yarns used are: for the darker blue – Stylecraft Life 4 ply shade 2308 (Cascade) and for the paler blue an old yarn from my stash that I have had for years – Hayfield Baby Bonus 4 ply shade 854 (Baby Blue).

I used a size 3mm crochet hook.

The shoes are adapted from another pattern by Odile!

I think Annie looks really nice today.

Jeannie in Grey and Pink – Odile Does It Again!

2 Feb

Bonjour, mes amies!

Jeannie has a new outfit!

This is a very sophisticated pattern by Odile of Passion Poupees that I could just not resist. I love the border for the top. I have not used this edging before and would love to use it again for something.

Both yarns are Patons Diploma Gold – shade 4219 (Pink) and shade 4245 (Steel). And as usual I used a crochet hook one size larger than Odile recommends – size 3.5 mm.

I think Jeannie looks quite serious in this two piece – as if she was off to the office for an important meeting!

Krissy in Pink and Black – Just Like Her Sister and Cousins

1 Feb

Bonjour, mes amies! Je reviens!

Here is Krissy finally getting her matching dress for her wee family.

I love making this half ‘n’ half dress – the main part is knitted, and the top and bottom frill are crocheted. It is based on an original design by Odile of Passion Poupees, but I have adapted it each time I have made it.

The yarn used is Stylecraft Life 4 ply in shade 2358 (Clover) and the black contrast is Patons 100% Cotton 4 ply shade 1712 (Black). And I used size 3 mm knitting needles and a size 3 mm crochet hook.

I’ve enjoyed making these little dresses and here are all four of my 2012 Mini Corollines in their matching outfits.

Left to right we have Kimberley, Krissy, Katie and Kara.

Pink and Purple – Krissy’s Winter Warmer

8 Jan

Bonjour, mes amies!

Here is Krissy in an absolutely adorable outfit by Odile at Passion Poupees. It’s been a while since I’ve made an outfit for one of my Mini Corollines, and it has been fun and fast.

This outfit was for a larger doll and I hoped that by using Odile’s recommended size of crochet hook it would turn out small enough for Krissy (I am a much tighter crocheter than Odile!). I was right and it is a very good fit. However, I did not enjoy using a size 2.5 mm hook – it was hard for me – I’m used to bigger hooks.

I did adjust the hat to make sure that it stayed turned up by making the last row have several stitches crocheted together.

The yarn is Stylecraft Life 4 ply in shade 2309 (Heather) and James C Brett Supreme Baby 4 ply shade SY3 (Lilac).

I love this outfit!! I hope you do too.

Happy New Year! – Shona’s Daring Two Piece

4 Jan

Bonjour, mes amies!

Finally the last arrival is at the Hogmanay Party.

Shona, my naughtiest little girl (who rarely brushes her hair) has arrived fashionably late.

She is wearing a lovely little two piece outfit where the top comes directly from a pattern of Odile鈥檚 at Passion Poupees.

Her skirt I made myself and unusually I started it at the bottom and worked up so that I could include two rows of the scarf yarn easily. It was interesting trying to figure out the decreases for the waistband!

The yarn used for the skirt and top is Stylecraft Life 4 ply in shade 2309 (Heather) and the frill was created by the scarf yarn Papillon in shade 16 (Purple). I used a size 3.00 mm crochet hook for both.

I am very pleased with how the skirt has turned out and I made it in one go without having to stop and try again!

Shona looks ready to party with the others 鈥

鈥 and here they all are together at the party.

Happy New Year! – Annie’s Hogmanay Party Outfit

2 Jan

Bonjour et bonne ann茅e, mes amies!

Here is Annie’s party outfit for the Hogmanay party.

This really cute pattern comes courtesy of Odile at Passion Poupees. The only changes I made were to use a size 3.5 mm hook, lengthen the skirt a bit and, instead of sleeves, I added a little bit of the picot border.

This lovely yarn was an impulse buy at my local yarn shop. It is Rico Creative Reflection shade 004 (Pastel) and changes through many colours, but with quite a long repeat. I love how this outfit has turned out pale blue with lilac. There is a thread of silver glitter throughout.

This is a beautiful outfit that I think works well as a party outfit in this yarn.

And here is Annie at the party with Patricia, Robyn and Jeannie.
