Matching White Dresses – Jeannie and Annie’s first dual outfit

16 Oct

On the first day of my horse riding holiday I started making these two dresses using the patterns provided by Odile on her blog Passion Poupees. Odile is an incredibly prolific crocheter and I am in the process of making countless versions of the outfits that she has provided free tutorials for – watch this space … (several have already been posted.)

The shoe pattern is also from Odile’s website and has instantly become my favourite one to use for the dolls’ shoes.

I used some old 4 ply yarn that I had in my stash and as I have subsequently started using more sophisticated yarns, particulary Patons 4 ply cotton and Rowan Siena, these dresses seem very ‘fluffy’.

I designed the wee headbands myself and tried to make them match the detail on the dresses. I only made these today so that is why it has taken a wee while to take and post these pictures.

I have discovered that I must always use a crochet hook one size larger than Odile recommends, as I am a very tight crocheter compared to her.

Arty can’t resist the opportunity to have his picture taken!
