Jeannie’s other ballet outfit – makes you want to go aww…

2 Oct

Despite the fact that Jeannie arrived in a full ballet costume I decided to crochet this beautiful outfit by Odile at Passion Poupees.

I used Sirdar Baby Snuggly 4 ply shade 405 Bubble (pink) and a 3.50 mm crochet hook. The ballet shoes were based on the perfect pattern provided by Sylvie at Poupeesdesyl and I used the same size crochet hook. The hair scrunchie was provided in Odile’s pattern.

I also made little pants for her that originally I considered attaching to the tutu. However I decided that it would be better if I made actual pants that covered her whole bum as the costume was quite see-through there. I’m not very happy with the pants as the edges are a wee bit scrappy. I used and adapted a pattern from the book ‘J’Habille Ma Poupees: Destination Vacances’ by Nathalie Perdoncin which I bought through Amazon. I used a size 2.5 mm crochet hook as I wanted the pants to be as opaque as possible. I think they would have been better with elastic at the sides instead of a crochet chain – something to think of for the next time to try and make sure they are not too bulky under the other garments.
